Form I-94

I-94 is a foreign visitor’s record on arrival and departure from the United States. Upon arrival into the United States, the U.S. Customs and Border Officer stamps the passport of the non-immigrant traveler with the admission date, class of admissions, and the expiration of the authorized period of stay. Now the entry-exit system has changed to paperless electronic I-94. The information is entered into the system which is available and accessible online.

Upon the departure of the foreign visitor, the Customs and Border Officer will stamp the exit date and enter the information into their system.

Though Customs and Border Protection collects the information of travelers’ arrival or departure online, CBP will still issue a paper form of the I-94 at land border ports of entry. Travelers can request the paper Form I-94 during the inspection process.
